Road Trip Saves Time And Money
Another trip successfully completed for one of our regular clients this week. This time the journey was to visit a client in South London to discuss important interior design requirements for a major new development in the Capital City. Wow, was that a long day! There was no overnight stay planned as the client needed to get back to base for the following day. In total the day stretched out to around 19 hours, but this afforded them the needed 5 plus hours onsite for their meeting. The client commented how easy and comfortable the journey was and also having the convenience of being transported directly from home to destination and back without the usual hassle of any connections. With their own workspace and access to free Wi Fi, it was almost like having your very own office on wheels! Safety, of course, was also a major consideration which was made easy with the very stringent Covid-19 protection protocols the company has in place.

CEO Chauffeured On Relocation Quest
Part of what we do includes showing clients the very best that the North East region has to offer. Because we have clients spread far and wide, we become very conversant with the local area we are able offer advice on such things as property locations, infrastructure and amenities.
This was certainly the case when we were asked recently to provide a chauffeur car service and driver with good local knowledge for a new Company CEO and his family who were looking to relocate to the area. Of course, advice was first sought from local estate agents and the family came armed with details of properties in a number of quite different locations. It did appear that even having a significant amount of information about suitable properties, I think they just wanted to judge the different proposed areas for themselves with a degree of unbiased local knowledge and minimal intervention before making up their minds. Whilst the client himself had visited the area before, he’d never had time to explore and of course, everything was new to the rest of the family. Our driver was able to provide answers to non-property related, but still important issues, such as route suggestions to and from the office, rush hour traffic conditions and estimated journey times. In addition, we were able to provide a broader view of the cultural wealth and significant points of interest around the region to give the family a more complete picture of what it is like to live here in the North East. In the process we searched around all points of the compass from coastline to countryside, but I think in the end it looks like they’re likely to settle for a rural retreat in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, yet still close enough to local amenities within easy commuting distance of Newcastle.
It was certainly a long but productive day which was rewarded with the satisfaction of being able to make a positive contribution to what was for us, a most interesting project.

Light on the Horizon
Just this week the UK became the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for use. Even though they’re starting with people in high-priority groups first, such as care home residents and staff as well as frontline health workers there are a number of other vaccine producers waiting for approval.
Roadworks Halted
Generally road traffic volumes have been lighter during lockdown but these are set to rise again as people take to the road to visit family and friends over the festive season. To make journeys quicker at this time, the Government have announced it has cleared 500 miles of roadworks on motorways and A roads. Every little helps!
